Surreal Photography By Nicolas Bruno Inspired By His Nightmares

Nicolas Bruno suffers from sleep paralysis, a state in which he’s unable to move and is haunted by nightmarish visions. “I have experienced bone chilling hallucinations and extreme terror during these dreams,” he says. “Faceless silhouetted figures, embraces from shadow-like hands, warping of reality around me – all while completely paralyzed.” Nicolas started recreating these terrifying hallucinations in his photos, overcoming his fear and discovering the creative power of conceptual photography.

Hi and sorry for sort of spamming your dashboard today. I just really need to get rid of the old stuff in my files before i start to hate them too much! There’s still some drawings from the spring/summer but i’m probably gonna wait a few days before posting them, don’t worry.
But yes before i’ll shut up, take a messy wip of the thing i’m working on right now! I’ve been thinking about bunnies with Shope papilloma virus-like infection a lot lately.

The Black Death Plague Doctor: A plague doctor was a special medical physician who saw those who had the Bubonic Plague. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection.
